Recently, there was a military dog training event in Münchwilen, right on my usual training route, but we were going in the opposite direction. We encountered a group of dog walkers with about 20 dogs, about 10 of whom had their dogs off-leash on a road that was also used by cars. We walked towards this group, and my dog Mikesch stopped when he saw the many dogs running around. When the dog owners finally noticed us, they reluctantly put their dogs on leashes, at which point Mikesch was able to continue. We then walked around a pond and encountered the same group again on the other side. The same thing happened again; once more, many dogs were off-leash, and Mikesch couldn't continue because the situation was unpredictable. Again, these dog owners reluctantly put their dogs on leashes. As we crossed paths, a man approached me. I had the feeling he was the dog trainer of this group and asked if my dog was anxious. I then asked him why he had that feeling. He replied that my dog always stops and doesn't continue walking when other dogs approach. To which I responded, "Look, sir, in case you haven't noticed, this dog is wearing a white harness and is therefore a guide dog. When he encounters a group like yours, he has to decide for me whether we can get through the situation unharmed or whether the risk is too great. The blind person can't see exactly what's going on. So my dog isn't afraid, but very clever. He realized that if we walked through all these unleashed dogs, there was a high risk of being attacked. That's why he made the only right decision for me: to check if you would put your dogs on leashes so we could continue. If you hadn't done that, he would have had to turn around and get me out of the danger zone." The man visibly became uneasy and continued walking without further comment. Believe me, what I'm describing here is an extraordinary skill in a dog, achievable only with extensive knowledge. This is not standard among guide dogs.

You come to us: because we understand your problems and can solve them together; because you want to learn how to truly communicate with your dog; because you can only learn our method with us; because there's no problem we can't solve; because we can demonstrate to you and your dog how it should be done; because people feel comfortable with us; because if your dog had a choice, he would surely want to come to us; because we welcome not only easy dogs; because you will receive real help; because you won't need dog training school to solve problems afterward; because you will reach your goal faster with us; because our method is completely logical.

In today's world, it is becoming increasingly important that I, as a dog owner, am perceived by my fellow human beings as a good dog handler.
